Online payments on a website in Tajikistan: how to connect them
Customers want to pay right away, without calls or bank transfers by details. We explain how online payment works, what your company will need and what to look for in a contractor.
The easier it is to pay, the more orders get completed. If a customer has to call, wait for bank details and transfer money by hand, some buyers leave.
Payment methods
- Bank internet acquiring — card payment right on the website. The bank provides a payment page and credits the money to the company account.
- Payment services and wallets — payment through apps customers already use.
- QR code payment — the customer scans a code in their banking app.
- Invoice for companies — for B2B customers the site creates an invoice that is paid by transfer.
A business usually needs 2–3 methods: card, a popular app and an invoice for companies.
What you need to connect
- A registered business — a sole proprietorship or legal entity and a current account.
- An agreement with a bank or payment service — ask them directly about terms and fees.
- A website ready for review: descriptions of goods and services, prices, delivery and refund terms, contacts, a privacy policy.
- Technical integration — a developer connects the payment page and sets up payment notifications.
How it works technically
The customer clicks “Pay” → goes to the bank's secure page → enters card details → the bank reports the result to the site → the order becomes “Paid” and the customer receives a receipt.
Important: card details must be entered on the bank's side, not stored on your website.
Security
- the site works over HTTPS only;
- the site gets the payment status directly from the bank, not from the customer's page;
- the admin panel is protected with a strong password and two-factor authentication;
- regular backups and updates.

What to ask the contractor
- Which banks and payment services in Tajikistan have they already worked with?
- How are refunds and partial payments handled?
- What happens if the customer paid but the connection dropped?
- How will orders and payments reach your accounting or CRM?
